The literature of Arthur Serpente, Second Life roleplay character
Arthur Serpente is an avatar in Second Life. He is a roleplay character. He is an author about matters related to the occult. He claims to be a former vampire. He was originally created for a serious role in a roleplay sim that has since closed, Pandemonium, which is set in the London of the 1850s. Today, he has a library, church, cemetery and gardens in New Babbage. He claims to be a former vampire and now writes about the occult and matters of mystery. He is currently pursuing a line of inquiry in which he claims ancient aliens were responsible for much of human culture and progress. Thank God such thoughts will be long gone by 2014 ...

The 6 Habits of Highly Effective and Polite Vampyres: while awaiting trial for a hideous crime in 1846, Mr Serpente claimed he had committed the crime while under the influence of vampirism which he had since cured. This book was written in jail, as he tried to convince people that he had indeed been a vampire.
Vampyre No More: This book, published in 1849, is what Mr Serpente, now insisting he is a fully cured vampire, calls a self-help book for vampires. In it, he chronicles a highly improbable and unique journey which somehow cured him of vampirism. The wise reader will note many a purient adventure, but precious little information about the actual cure.
Guide to Egyptology, the Wonders of Egypt and its Alien Builders, the Past of This Glorious Land with Ruminations Upon the Present and Future of its Peoples and Field Guide to Items of Interest to the Casual and Concerned Collector of Egyptological Artifacts and Talismans with an emphasis upon Occult Folklore, Powers and Healing Including Unsightly Skin Conditions, Dyspepsia and Men's and Women's Complaints of Various and Sundry Sort. This book was created to support a roleplay event in New Babbage in which rare Egyptian artifacts, which may or may not have powers, were distributed to the children.
Newspaper article about his arrival in Pandamonium: This article was available in the Second Life roleplay sim of Pandemonium to explain why Mr Serpente was in London in 1850, as part of a book tour. It's too bad the sim closed, but that's a tribute to the tough state of roleplay in Second Life.
Babbage: There are some miscellaneous writings in New Babbage, including a special recipe. Here are a couple of links:
- An award-winning recipe for Mummeh-Wrapped Air Kraken with Cinderberry Garnish
- Other writings.
